Background

Project Product Description is a super Product Description! It explains the whole product of the project instead of its building blocks. So, like Product Descriptions, it’s mainly about describing the product based on its scope and quality. That’s how you can describe a product. However, this is a separate template, because they way describe quality is a little different here: for the project as a whole, quality starts with the customer quality expectations and goes further from there. Composition

The template has these main sections:

Document information: this is the generic information about the document and connections with your Configuration Management system. Feel free to add more information here, but it’s best to keep it simple.
Approval: this section is for capturing approvals. There are multiple lines, because you may have multiple versions of this document approved. If you have a well-formed Configuration Management system to track approvals, feel free to remove this section.
Description: this part is about the scope of the project (composition) and some additional information.
Quality: this is where fun begins!
