Teaching is learning! Why don’t you give a short presentation to your colleagues on how scope management is done based on the PMBOK Guide?

For your presentation, I suggest you focus on the relationship between requirements and scope on one hand, and the product scope vs. project scope on the other. More importantly, tell them how important it is to focus on the product and define the scope before planning the activities.
