Lesson 01: What is ITIL about
Welcome to the course!

Very well, you’re done with the first lesson. Let’s review what you’ve learned:
- ITIL is about “___ ___ __ ___ management”. Describe what that phrase means and what it includes.
- ITIL 5 is a whole-lifecycle or end-to-end system. That’s the whole lifecycle of what? What does it mean to say that it covers the whole lifecycle?
- There’s a difference between managing “products and services” together, managing them separately, or managing only one of them. Can you explain how?
- ITIL talks about “digital products and services”; what does that mean in day-to-day language?
The following are the definitions we’ve had in this lesson. You don’t have to memorize definitions, but you should have an overall idea of them. So, think about each of the following definitions and try to explain them to an imaginary audience. Then, compare them with the official definition, either by going back to the video or by finding it in the glossary of the manual.
