PRINCE2® 7 Practitioner Exam
Here you can buy a voucher for the official PRINCE2® 7 Practitioner exam.The exam is online and you can take it from home or work, anywhere in the world.
The exam process:
This is what happens after you buy the exam voucher:
- After your purchase, we will contact you to confirm your information.
- Then we register you with the examination institute and send you the exam voucher. The voucher will be valid for 12 months.
- You can use the exam voucher to set the date and time of your exam with the examination institute.
- At the date and time that you’ve set, you will go online and take the exam. The exam is proctored online.
- You’ll receive the result at the end of the exam.
- If you pass the exam, the electronic certificate will be emailed to you in a few days.
- If you fail the exam, you’ll need to pay for and take the exam again.
Take²
PeopleCert offers an option called Take² (aka 'Take2' and 'Take 2'). With this option, by paying an extra amount upfront, you will get a free second attempt in the exam if you fail the first one.
To use the option, add it to your cart in addition to the main item before making the payment. Please note that you shouldn't buy the Take² option without the exam, and it's not possible to include it after the exam is booked.

- 150 minutes duration
- Open book (only the official manual)
You will need to renew this certificate every 3 years by passing a re-registration exam, or with PRINCE2 membership and demonstrating your professional development.

- IPMA Level A, B, C, or D

Note that the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam is scenario-based, meaning that you have a text file containing information about the project, and use that to answer the questions. These sample questions (as well as our exam simulator) have combined the scenario —where needed— into the question, to make the presentation simpler, and the practice easier.

You can take it from anywhere, as long as you’re in a small and quiet room. There should be no other people in that room, and no content related to the exam on the walls or desk.
At the beginning of the exam, you will be asked to move your webcam and show the whole room.
You can take the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam if you have at least one of the following certificates:
- PRINCE2 Foundation
- PMP®
- CAPM®
- IPMA Levels A, B, C, or D
Please note, however, that our PRINCE2 Practitioner eLearning course is designed for candidates who are already familiar with PRINCE2 at the Foundation level. So, if you’re not PRINCE2 Foundation certified but you can still take the exam because you satisfy the prerequisites by having other certificates such as PMP and IPMA-D, you may find the Practitioner course too difficult. In that case, we suggest that you take the PRINCE2 Foundation course first. You don’t have to take the PRINCE2 Foundation exam if you have one of the other certificates, but the course is necessary.
The exam is open-book format (with only the official manual allowed). Therefore, it’s a good idea to obtain a copy of the manual and use it in the exam.
If you use our eLearning course, the exam topics will be covered and no extra study will be required. The manual will be mainly used as a reference during the exam. However, if you’re planning to self-study, the manual would be one of your main resources.
It’s not mandatory, but it’s recommended.

Note: In case you’re familiar with the PMBOK® Guide, it’s worth mentioning that the PMBOK Guide is not a methodology and is designed to tell you “how” to do things (that you know you want to do), while PRINCE2 is designed to answer the “what”, “when”, and “by whom” questions instead. These two together form a great combination.

First, it must be a reliable connection (preferably wired, not WiFi). You can usually resume the exam if you’re disconnected, but it’s a risk.
Second, it must be fast enough, because the exam will be invigilated via webcam and microphone. If your connection is fine for video chat, it should work well for the exam.
